Nike WTHR is a mobile app that motivates the everyday athlete and reinforces the idea that greatness is in all of us.
One of the most common excuses people use for not working out is the weather. By connecting physical activity to the everyday activity of checking the weather, the app aims to inspire users to get out and get moving on a regular basis.
MOBILE APP + CAMPAIGN IDENTITY
The app provides a daily weather-based motivational message, workout challenge, and apparel suggestion to allow users to easily turn knowledge into action.
With Nike+ Training Club integration, users are able to track their workouts, celebrate achievements, and unlock rewards such as discounts and exclusive offers.
App Launch Campaign
The app will be launched with a marketing campaign featuring an interactive pop-up installation.
Passersby choose a city whose weather conditions will be displayed in light patterns within the window display. The lights react to your motions as a way to reinforce the idea that you are the one in control of your actions and not the weather.
Sketching how to directly connect the weather to workout and apparel suggestions, while remaining consistent with Nike’s other mobile apps.
